before watchmen ozymandias 3 before watchmen ozymandias 3 Reviews
I enjoyed reading issue three. Actually I am enjoying reading the whole Ozymandias series right now. The one I liked most here are its ties to the original Watchmen material. Before Watchmen: Ozymandias enriches the lore by showing interesting interactions between other soon-to-be Watchmen members and at the same time beefing up Ozymandia's exploits in his grand ambition of world domination. Props to Len Wein for being faithful with all the characters' personalities in the dialogues. The cover is an obvious give away as to which Watchmen member he has encountered, but Mr. O did see another one in this issue. I love how Len Wein interprets the Comedian as a shady government thug who is an equal to Ozymandias when it comes to fighting one-on-one. Veidts's rhetorics and Blakes's snide sarcasm blends together smoothly.
"THE HEART THAT FED" The Comedian and Ozymandias are equally matched. They fight till they tire in a stale mate. And part ways. While taking care of the Contraband, a group of smugglers, he gets an invite to a dinner to raise money for the hungry of India. He employs the three foremost architects to build his fortress in Antarctica. At the dinner he meets Dr. Manhattan and grows an obsession.
For the first few issues, this was my least favorite of the BW titles, and also the most redundant and pointless. i almost gave up on it. It rebounded very strongly here recently and i am now very much enjoying it, the art is first-rate. Hopefully the improved plotlines hold strong thru to the end.
In general, Ozymamdius is not my favourite of the Before Watchmen collection, then again he has never been a character that particularly interested me.Still, these comics provide an excellent insight into the character, and is quite enjoyable.
I'm annoyed that there is no reason for him to dislike Dr. M, or at least none stated. That was part of the background of them I was looking forward to. Oh well, maybe in the next three books?
Bleh. He sets up his lair. Bored.
10 out of 10!.
please dont judge me i liked it for the art ok
Me llama poderosamente la atención que el trabajo de Len Wein sea tan concienzudo. Muy gratificante.
